Rosterposter is a sampling of contemporary culture and a mapping of the constantly changing mirror of popular visual society shown through the photographs of artists from cities across the planet. Their goal was to document the character of found street art in its many temporary and fragmentary forms. It was also to demonstrate the urge of people to speak out and their behavior in doing so by showing the battle among different commercial and cultural advertisers in the way posters are pasted upon each other or peeled away, while guerrilla communication such as stickers, flyers, tags, and stencils are added over, around and between. It is this unintended collective collage at which the artists aimed their lenses not only to document the visual languages spoken in their city, but to simply find beauty in things considered ugly and unwanted by many.
